Lone Star Surfing!
While CC was in Corpus Christi to visit several schools and to speak at the Texas A&M Reading Conference he was able to tackle a new challenge -- SURFING.  We'll have a better photo spread posted soon, but for now, enjoy these three small images, courtesy of Deb Culbertson.  Thanks Deb!  And thanks Buddy, who was Chris's teacher.  He had a GREAT time.

YSU English Festival
...held from April 16-18 was FANTASTIC as it always seems to be.  Many thanks to Dr. Gary Salvner for making Chris's third time at the English Festival as exceptional as the other two. For a little more information, click HERE.

Great Article!
Reporter Kelsey Ferguson wrote a great article on CC's visit to Calallen High School in Corpus Christi, Texas in the Nueces County Record Star on April 9.  For your consideration, the lead:  "A bright smile shines through his beard, and as he turns to greet the students his peppered gray hair is more clearly visible.  Could it be true that this man, who looks so different from the students around him, has so much insight into the teenage world?  Surprisingly, yes."  Check out the rest of Kelsey's piece HERE.

Strasburg High
...will host CC in May, but the students aren't waiting to explore his books or to express his stories in their artwork.  Check out a few of their terrific student projects HERE.  Many thanks to Clarisse at SHS for sharing these great photos.  Thanks to the kids, too, for working so hard.  Crutcher LOVED your projects.

St. Martin’s Episcopal School
...
in Metairie, LA (near New Orleans) hosted Chris on January 7 and shared some great pictures, thanks to Leslie Bahn.  To check them out, click HERE.

CC on MySpace
First, there was the CC fan MySpace -- nicely done.  But people thought they were being ignored.  So Crutcher now has his own MySpace.  He's too busy to blog often, but swears he's going to make time when he can. So check it out!

Cafe Press
...has made it possible for us to offer a few items people have asked us to make available including an 11x17 poster, "Leviticus Sucks" t-shirts and a few other odds and ends.  Check it out if you're in the market HERE

We found this photo on the web, and borrowed it for Chris's website.  The caption read:  "The 2008 YSU ENGLISH FESTIVAL was a great success.  These students met Chris Crutcher one of the featured authors and enjoyed sharing books and winning awards.  Award winners this year were:  Aaron Thomas, Raelynn Kennedy, Shareyah Barnhart, and Ida Swartzfager.
