For the second consecutive year, ATHLETIC SHORTS was required reading for the YALSA WWE Reading Challenge, this time in Detroit, MI on March 31, 2007. Author Paul Volpini's BLACK AND WHITE was also required reading. He joined CC at the events and shared his photos. Thanks to he and his wife April for use of this great shot. |

When ALA landed in Washington, DC on June 24, HarperCollins sponsored a special event with the Clubhouse guys -- Walter Dean Myers, Kenneth Oppel, Robert Lipsyte, Terry Trueman and Chris Crutcher. GREAT event. |

DEADLINE was released by HarperCollins on September 18, 2007. CC spoke and signed at Auntie's Bookstore in Spokane on September 17 -- a day early for his hometown loyals. Great even. Check out a video of the reading on his MySpace account HERE. |

Chicago and the FTRF Read Out! hosted CC on September 29, and what a great cause it was. Standing up for free speech has always been important to Chris. He'll always be there to support anything the FTRF does. |

October means Octoberfest, especially for CC in Reno, NV. The Washoe County Library System took him all over the region on October 6, including to this celebration with a few friends. Gotta love the alpine wear. |

October 16 gave CC the chance to catch up with old friends and to make news ones in Smithville, MO. Dr. Virgil Albertini, to CC's right at dinner, and his wife Delores are the old friends. The staff of Smithville High are the new friends. |
