Michelle Clark's students from Liberty High School in Bealeton, VA are reading Chris Crutcher books in school. They also scored t-shirts from his Loudoun visit AND they bought CC wristbands. They'll host a visit from Chris in the 2006/2007 school year, and it should be a great one. Talk about rockin' readers!
Liberty High School RULES. : )

FROM MELISSA WEST: Chris Crutcher in Loudoun County Virginia ROCKS! Nine hundred teens and adults laughed and were moved by Chris's words throughout the day. All who heard received tshirts with the best advice they could have..."Read Chris Crutcher ... Decide for Yourself." Thank you Chris!

Stone Bridge Meets
Author Chris Crutcher

On Tuesday, April 4th Stone Bridge held a special presentation by critically-acclaimed author Chris Crutcher. Mr. Crutcher is the award-winning writer of fourteen books for young adults, including Whale Talk, Athletic Shorts, Chinese Handcuffs, and The Sledding Hill. The audience numbered close to 400 and included visiting students from Briar Woods High School and Freedom High School. Mr. Crutcher entertained students with humorous stories and anecdotes from his own misadventures in high school, his writing career, and his experiences as a child therapist. After the presentation six lucky students selected at random won autographed copies of books by the author. Mr. Crutcher ended the morning by signing autographs and offering greetings and handshakes to the many students who waited in line to meet him personally.

Special thanks go to the Ashburn Public Library for sponsoring the event in coordination with the Stone Bridge library.
